Professor Alan Pearce is a neuroscientist with an interest in understanding the physiology of the brain following mild brain injury. He has been focussed on this area since 2008 and has received international recognition for his work both in academic circles and wider community.  Alan was the first to present data on long-term brain injury in Australian football players in 2014 and in Rugby League players in 2018. His work has been featured across all television networks, newspapers in Australia and in International news including BBC, New York Times, The Guardian, Daily Mail UK, and NRC Netherlands.

 

Alan has published over 200 scientific papers and has just completed his second book entitled Principles of Exercise Neuroscience. Further to his work in brain injury, Alan also has an interest in researching neuroplasticity of the brain with strength training and aerobic exercise.
